Forest Hill care home is one of Barchester’s exceptional care homes in the East Midlands. Opened in 1996, the home was specifically designed to deliver first class quality nursing care for older people, including those living with Alzheimer’s or a dementia. Our 32 bedded Memory Lane Community is a prime example of dementia care at it’s very best.
Our brand new, purpose built Portland Suite unit, first opened it’s doors in May 2012. Our capable and experienced team work towards supporting choice, change and well-being for younger adults living with mental health needs and associated challenges. Offering 21 en-suite rooms, furnished to an exceptional standard, our aim is to offer a therapeutic environment intended to support each resident on their own individual pathway to well-being.
All of our care plans are based on the needs of our residents and we treat each one of them as an individual. Learning about life stories and reminiscence work are as important to us as they are to the people that live in our home and this valuable work helps us to connect with our residents on a personal level and enhance the overall care package that we offer to them.
Forest Hill features a Memory Lane Community which is dedicated to providing stimulation in addition to security and first class care. Memory boxes are a key feature on the resident’s doors and we encourage families and resident’s to fill these with personal memorabilia such as photographs which are used to great effect to help each person reminisce. All of our activities are based around the interests of our residents and are designed to create a fulfilling and stimulating environment whilst enhancing feelings of self worth. Essential to our homely feel is the enhanced relationship of trust built with family, friends and residents.
