ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - EXMOUTH HOUSE
Exmouth House was commissioned in the 1980s. Set in the landscaped grounds of Exmouth Court the home is close to the local infant school. Exmouth House is situated approximately I mile from the town centre and beach.
The home is a Residential Care Home providing services to older adults with dementia. We are registered to provide accommodation to a maximum of 31 people.
Aims and Objectives: The Care Provided
The management and staff at the home endeavour to provide consistently high standards of professional care in order that service user who have chosen to live in our home can live as normally as possible, where their individuality, independence and dignity are respected and upheld. Where a resident lacks capacity, sometimes or always; the provision of the Mental Capacity Act, 2005, are adhered to at all times.
We aim to use our extensive experience to maximise the potential of each individual resident within a homely and friendly setting.
We wish to provide the highest quality of care, and have worked towards and achieved in June 2008 the Investors in People Award. Following reassessment in June 2011 the Trust meets or exceeds all of the indicators of the Investors in People Standard. The Investors in People Review Report of Somerset Redstone Trust is available to read at the home.
The home had a Care Quality Commission site visit in 2012 and a warning notice was issued. We have since had a second visit and the warning notice has been lifted and we are waiting for the Care Quality Commission to update their website
On the 19th April the home received a third site visit from CQC and were found to be compliant. The report will be issued within 14 days and the CQC website will be updated soon after.
