ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ELMRIDGE NURSING HOME
Set in a residential area of Coulby Newham, near Middlesbrough, Elmridge Nursing Home is a well-equipped, purpose-built home.
The care we offer
This home provides specialist care and facilities for residents over the age of 18 with learning disabilities. It can also offer care and support for these residents if they require nursing, respite, convalescence and palliative care or have other secondary conditions such as physical or learning disabilities. Elmridge also specialises in epilepsy care and welcomes Downs Syndrome residents with dementia.
Manager information
The manager of Elmridge is Helen Saunders, who has worked at the home since 1993. Helen started her career in nursing and her qualifications include NVQ4, RMA and a Supervisory and Development Certificate from Newbury College.
Food
With a range of tasty and seasonal menus to choose from, mealtimes are important and enjoyable. We make sure that individual preferences are catered for. We offer a Night Bite menu between 6.30pm and 6.30am for those who need it. Biscuits are served with mid-morning tea or coffee, and home-made cakes are a delicious feature for afternoon tea.
Activities
A separate activities area hosts a varied programme of daily activities including games, arts and crafts and cooking, while outdoors some gentle gardening takes place. There is a hairdressing service for a little on-site pampering.
Our activity co-ordinator arranges social events, trips to local places of interest and even a regular visit to the home from a pony, which our residents greatly enjoy.
