ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - DOVE COURT RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
Dove Court, a modern purpose-built home, is situated in a quiet, residential area only two miles outside Burnley in the heart of Pennine Lancashire.
The care we offer
This modern, purpose built, single storey home has been designed specifically to meet the needs of elderly residents, and our registered nurses and care assistants provide personal care 24-hours a day. Comprising four houses, a range of specialist care is offered including residential care, nursing care, residential dementia care, nursing dementia care, convalescence, respite and palliative care.
Food
Providing nutritious and enjoyable meals is an important part of the overall care we provide to residents at Dove Court. We make sure that each individual’s personal preferences and dietary needs are taken into account, and our chef uses fresh ingredients and produce to ensure that meals are tempting and beautifully presented.
Each morning residents are offered a warm drink before they choose from the breakfast menu – this can range from full English to a continental breakfast with pastries, cereals, fruit juice and a variety of breads. Residents can also choose from a separate Night Bite menu if they would like something to eat between 6.30pm and 6.30am.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are always on hand, and every afternoon there is a delicious homemade cake to enjoy.
Activities
Dove Court has a dedicated activity co-ordinator who ensures there’s always something enjoyable and stimulating to do regardless of ability. Typical activities include gentle exercises, craft sessions, board games, and reminiscence sessions in our dedicated reminiscence room. A mobile library visits regularly, as do local entertainers.
There are regular excursions for residents to partake in, such as lunch at the local pub, visits to St Johns Church, and shopping trips to Bardon Mill.
There are also specially-themed events that take place each month, which are designed so every resident can join in if they wish.
