Woodhouse Cottage provides support for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. Our aim is to provide the highest quality support which enable people to develop their skills, live as independently as possible and reach their goals.
We aim to treat all our residents as we would wish to be treated ourselves and believe that dignity, privacy and choice should be encouraged.
The service offers 24/7 specialist residential support and is committed to providing just enough support to empower and encourage individuals to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible and achieve positive outcomes for all. The service is also supported by a quality assurance team including a specialist learning disability advisor whose aim is to empower service users to take control of their lives, and where possible, work towards a level of independence which fits with their skills, confidence and aspirations.
Woodhouse Cottage promotes Craegmoor’s communication strategy, “Your Voice”, which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of other living at the service. This is extended area, divisional and national level.
