ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CRAEGMOOR LEVITT MILL

Levitt Mill & Barn provides support for people with autism, learning disabilities and challenging behaviour and our goal is to support everyone to live as independently as possible. The facility is a listed building with its own unique history. It is situated in the centre of its own grounds in a peaceful woodland setting at the side of a small stream, on the outskirts of a local village. From our grounds we have direct access in to the local countryside and can walk to Roche Abbey, a local tourist attraction. A short walk leads to a paddock belonging to Levitt Mill & Barn, where some local people keep their horses.

There is excellent access to local transport links and we are only a few short miles from the motorway (M18, M1 & A1). In the local community there are a selection of shops, places to eat, a public leisure and fitness centre and a library. These places are no more than 15 minutes walk away on the local village high strees.

Levitt Mill & Barn is made up of 2 buildings, each with a kitchen, a laundry room, 2 lounges and a dining room. There are 11 bedrooms in total all with en-suite facilities and individuals are encouraged and supported to personalise their bedrooms. There is a wet room in both the Mill and Barn. The Barn also has a multi-sensory room.

Around the Mill there are large patio areas of decorative local York stone and also a large, relaxing and peaceful garden. It is a great place to watch wildlife and to have parties and BBQ’s in the summer.

Levitt Mill & Barn is welcoming, friendly and very person centred.
