ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CRAEGMOOR HOMELEIGH FARM
Homeleigh Farm is set in a rural area just one mile from the small town of Lydd and offers specialist support for six males with learning disabilities who also present mild to moderate challenging behaviours.
The town has a small selection of shops, a library and several pubs, with Dungeness and a bird sanctuary close by. Also in Dungeness is the famous Hythe and New Romney light railway, along with two lighthouses and the sea.
Homeleigh Farm is set in four acres of land, with chickens, a large garden, a vegetable area and an orchard for people to get involved with and look after. Our service users have varied interests and the farm aims to meet everyone's needs and wants. There are community-based activities to participate in which include horse riding, fishing, socialising at the local pub, shopping and visiting the library as well as local day care programmes. There is a sun lounge and separate TV room, along with a separate dining room and open kitchen, which looks onto the conservatory.
Homeleigh Farm promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy - Your Voice - which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service.
