ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CRAEGMOOR DOLPHIN LANE
Dolphin Lane provides 24 hour support for 13 individuals with learning disabilities. The home is a three story building in the heart of Thorpe village, located in Wakefield in Yorkshire. The home has three floors, two kitchens and two communal areas, the decor for which has been tastefully chosen by our service users. We have eight en suite bedrooms situated on the ground floor, each with wheelchair access. There are a further five en suite rooms on the first floor.
The house has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the dedicated staff strive to make it our residents' home, a place where they can retain independence. Each person at Dolphin Lane has a person centred plan which is tailored to their needs and wishes. Each individual is involved in identifying their goals and how they would like to achieve them.
Dolphin Lane promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy "Your Voice" which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the service they receive. Meeting are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time.
At Dolphin Lane we are committed to encouraging and supporting individuals to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible. We encourage and support individuals to be responsible for buying and preparing their own food. Some individuals have successfully found employment and manage their own finances.
