ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - COTTENHAM COURT RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
Set in the pretty village of Cottenham, on the outskirts of Cambridge, Cottenham Court is purpose-built and well equipped for the care of older residents, while also supporting independent living for young people with physical disabilities.
The care we offer
A wide range of care is available from residential, respite and convalescence to long term nursing and palliative care. We also care for people with Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease. There are a number of assisted living properties in the grounds to support the needs of young people with physical disabilities, while encouraging their continued independence.
Food
At mealtimes residents have the choice to eat in the privacy of their own room or in the dining room, which offers stunning views of the courtyards through the floor-to-ceiling windows.Our chef prepares a range of nutritionally balanced menus that are designed to meet the individual preferences and needs of our residents. There is always a wide selection of hot and cold meals as well as snacks and lighters options.
Residents can also choose from a special Night Bite menu which is available from 6.30pm to 6.30am.
Activities
There is always something exciting to do at Cottenham Court. As well as the array of daily activities that residents can take part in, such as gardening, exercise classes and crafts, our strong links with the local community mean that residents are often invited to watch plays and pantomimes by the local theatre group at Cottenham Village College. There are also visits from Pets as Therapy, a national charity that provides therapeutic visits to the home with calm and friendly cats and dogs.
As well as regularly organised trips into historic Cambridge and the countryside, we hold monthly special events that are themed and offer residents the opportunity to get involved and socialise in a fun and informal way. Friends and family are always welcome to such events held at the home.
