ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - COLTON LODGES NURSING HOME
Colton Lodges offers several types of care, depending on the level of support required. This ranges from long term care and nursing, to nursing dementia care, residential care and respite. We also offer care for young physically disabled people and for those over 50 with physical disabilities, and specialist care for those with palliative needs.
About Colton Lodges
The secure landscaped gardens, patio area and gazebo are a particular feature of Colton Lodges. Residents can sit and enjoy the outdoors on sunny days. There is also a herb garden which provides supplies for the chef to use. Residents who enjoy gardening can help tend to the raised beds, pots and hanging baskets if they wish.
The home has recently been updated to be more environmentally friendly, and now uses LED lights and solar panels for external heat source.
Relaxation
In addition to the lovely gardens for outside relaxation, the home has a number of comfortable, well furnished lounges and dining areas. These provide space to entertain guests, socialise, watch television or simply spend some quiet time. The home also has a dedicated reminiscence room. This is a place where residents can spend time with members of staff, their family and friends and enjoy talking about the past.
Activities
There's plenty for everyone to enjoy at Colton Lodges including music and movement ,quizzes, bingo, darts and bowls. The home's dedicated activity co-ordinator always ensures there are a variety of enjoyable and stimulating activities available, for those of all abilities.
The home takes part in our 'Big 12' calendar of seasonal activities that might include a summer fete, a pantomime or bonfire night celebrations. Residents can enjoy participating in the home’s many clubs which include ones for painting and reading. Excursions outside the home include lunch visits to the local pub, coffee mornings at local cafes and shopping trips to Leeds. Friends and family are always welcome to join in.
