ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - COLONIA COURT RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
Purpose built to a high specification in order to meet the needs of residents; Colonia Court comprises four separate houses each providing individual, specialist care. One offers nursing care, one residential care, one residential dementia care and one for those with Huntington’s disease.
Each resident has their own key carer, who will take time to get to know them, their background, interests, tastes and care needs in line with their unique personal care plan.
Across the four separate houses that make up Colonia Court, carers pride themselves on providing a safe, supportive environment, where residents feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible, and able to continue their daily lives with privacy and dignity. The home’s facilities are second to none and this is reflected in the excellent rating awarded by the Care Quality Commission. Surrounded by mature landscaped gardens and pretty patio areas, the home is a sanctuary for wildlife.
One of the four houses, Amber Lodge, is unique in its focus solely on the care of people with Huntington’s disease.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms at Colonia Court are ensuite and furnished to a high standard. They can be personalised with residents' own belongings to make them feel more homely and many have flat screen LCD TVs with Freeview.
Home life
Colonia Court is bright and spacious with excellent facilities. As well as communal areas including various quiet lounges and a bright conservatory, there is also a specially equipped internet café for residents that like to stay in touch online, a therapy room, a unique sensory bathroom and a fully equipped Snoezelen sensory room that provides a stimulating and therapeutic environment that many residents benefit from.
Gardens
Residents can enjoy the large landscaped garden that features a seated patio and sensory garden. On sunny afternoons residents enjoy taking afternoon tea on the patio, while enjoying the pretty scenery and watching the local wildlife that visit the gardens.
