ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CARNARVON NURSING CENTRE
Situated in the seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea, Carnarvon, a former hotel, has been renovated and carefully converted to meet the needs of elderly and young physically disabled people requiring nursing care.
The care we offer
Carnarvon Nursing centre offers several types of stay depending on the level of support required. Long term care supports those who need daily nursing, while short stay care can be offered including respite, convalescent and palliative care. We provide high levels of personal care to our residents through the expertise of our dedicated and professional registered nurses and care assistants.
Food
Meals are an important and enjoyable part of the day at Carnarvon. Our residents can expect to have excellent, home-made and nutritious food that is beautifully presented. The chef manager has worked at Carnarvon for over 20 years and regularly meets with residents to ensure their dietary requirements are met.
At the start of the day residents are immediately offered a hot drink and at the first meal there is the option of a full cooked breakfast as well as a continental menu to choose from. As well as full meals, with a choice of desserts and fresh fruit, there are also lighter alternatives and snacks. We also provide a Night Bite menu for those who would like to eat between 6.30pm and 6.30am.
Activities
At Carnarvon, our dedicated activity co-ordinator ensures there's always something enjoyable to do, from crafts and card making to board games and outings. Our calendar of monthly events is based on different seasonal themes and is specially adapted to suit all our residents, regardless of mobility.
Volunteers offer to take residents shopping and strong links with the local community mean there are regular entertainers and school children visiting to perform. A firm favourite are belly dancers and the Jurassic experience - where reptiles and spiders are brought in to show.
