Longdown Road is a specialist residential service for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, communication difficulties and complex health needs. Service users are supported to develop person centred plans and individualised health action plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence.
Our experienced team works in partnership with families, carers, advocates and public service professionals to ensure that the support provided is pro-active and appropriate.
We follow an active, person centred approach which supports service users to express their wishes, make choices and achieve their planned outcomes.
Our Total Communication approach enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for service users with severe communication and sensory difficulties.
Service users are supported to develop individually tailored Health Action Plans which focus on supporting people to manage their healthcare needs and increase their independence.
Service users are supported to reach their full potential by experiencing new interests, developing new skills and by becoming active members of their local community.
We support service users to choose and take part in activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills such as shopping and cooking through to further education, voluntary and paid work placements, social and leisure activities.
