ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BROOKLANDS CARE LIMITED
Brooklands Care Home provides accommodation and support for up to 5 people with Learning Disabilities.
Brooklands is a detached home with its own garden. The house has a very spacious lounge, dining room and kitchen as well as a large games/arts and crafts room which has a wii and pool table.
Brooklands has a well established staff team. All staff follow a robust training programme which include Health and safety, first aid, mental capacity act, DOLs, epilepsy and makaton to name but a few. All staff are trained or are working towards their NVQ levels 2, 3 or 5.
Brooklands has embraced the concept of person centered planning, which allows staff who work with the servoice users to support each person fully.
The service users are encoraged to fully participate within the day to day running and decision making of their home, to get involved with all aspects of household management, work based oppurtunities, college courses and enjoying excursions to various places of interest.These could include bowling,the cinema, swimming,the gym or theme parks.Brooklands has a 9 seater minibus which makes accessing these places easier.
We hold regular service user meetings which are used as a means of planning and preperation for the running of the home.
Brooklands aims to ensure that the service users fell safe and secure in their home.We also aim to support the service user to florish,develop skills and lead enjoyable lives that are personally meaningful to each. Friends and families are always welcome to visit at anytime and are also invited to our Firework and christmas parties.
Brooklands also encourages the service users to take an annual holiday.The choice of destination is decided by the individual and they are given the support to plan. book and attend.
Brooklands is commited to a person centered approach.We understand and recognise the diverse needs of people with a learning disability.Brooklands will support the service user to develop and maintain their level of indepandence.
