ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ASHLAR HOUSE
Our remit is to provide Nursing Care for people living with a Dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease) in our Memory Lane Community. Additionally we also have a Day Centre “The Ashlar Club”, which is in separate but linked accommodation. This is what we do and our staff are experienced in supporting people living with a dementia.
It is always our intention to focus upon an holistic approach to care, therefore as well as providing for the physical needs of each resident all staff are encouraged to focus upon the life, hobbies & interests of the individual. In this way we aim to develop a Person Centered approach to the care we provide.
Our team of experienced staff, led by Emma Bryer our General Manager, are encouraged to develop and enhance their individual skills, working as a pro-active team. This approach and attention to detail has a positive impact upon the daily life and well being of life at Ashlar House.
Our programmes and care delivery are “person first” in their nature and philosophy. That is to say, we continue to see the person before we see their dementia.
Ashlar House is a purpose built care home, located within the grounds of St Margaret’s Hospital.
Ashlar House is designed all on one level enabling free and easy access to all area’s of the home, including the internal gardens.
We have three courtyard gardens which are themed "seaside", "sensory" and a "working" garden which are accessible to all. These gardens enable residents with an interest in gardening to retain their hobby.
In our Day Centre “The Ashlar Club” caters for individuals living in the community with dementia. Our aim is to provide a meaningful and fulfilling “day out”.
It is our philosophy that Ashlar House exists for the people we support, and life does not stop because the individual needs care. Why not arrange a visit and see for yourself!
