ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ASHDALE


This small residential home for adults with learning disabilities is in the village of Holybourne, near Alton. Ashdale is a detached house, in a quiet cul-de-sac position with lovely gardens to the front and rear. 

Ashdale supports four people with additional needs including epilepsy, visual impairment and communication difficulties.

The people living at Ashdale enjoy busy and active lifestyles, engaging in structured day opportunities provided locally, as well as social opportunities with their network of friends. Music is popular with those living at Ashdale, with individual tastes spanning the decades, from the 1960’s to the current day.  ABBA and The Beatles are particular favourites.

The house has a large lounge, with adjoining office, both of which open out onto decking areas and the lawn beyond.   The kitchen is well appointed and spacious to support people to maintain and develop their cooking and food preparation skills. 

Each of the bedrooms have been personalised to reflect the characters of the people who live at Ashdale. There are also bright, vibrant colours throughout, further contributing to the positive and cheerful atmosphere of this home.

The people living at Ashdale enjoy many activities, in particular trampolining, cooking at the local college, fun and fitness at the local sports centre, pottery, going to the gym and work experience in a local charity shop. Preferred evening activities include going to discos and active involvement in their local church group.
