ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ASHCROFT

Ashcroft provides a therapeutic, safe and supported environment for women. Set in a quiet, rural location, the service provides accommodation for an allocated period of time for women to work towards a level of recovery before being supported to move on to appropriate independent living in the wider community.

The placements can be for planned respite, emergency respite or medium term. We work very closely with individuals and their care team to enable us to understand the needs, aims and goals of anyone requiring our service. Placements may be subject to approval by a local funding panel, and can also be directly purchased using a Self-Directed Payment/ Personal Budget.

We offer a range of specialist therapeutic and practical activities to re-establish life skills. Our specialist staff team offer activities in-house, either individually or in groups, for example Drumming Therapy, Exercise & Relaxation, Assertiveness, Dealing with Emotions, Creative Writing, Cookery, and Budgeting. 

We also have the benefit of an Art Therapist and Massage Therapist to enhance the support we provide and encourage all those who stay at Ashcroft to feel able to engage and benefit from this support. We also encourage and support individuals to access community facilities.

We constantly seek to offer the best possible service and have various ways of encouraging those who live at Ashcroft to voice their views and thoughts on what is helpful and how things might be improved. For example, our service user forum is an important way in which individuals can develop their personal and group skills in listening and giving feedback.
