ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - AMORE CLAREMOUNT HOUSE
Amore Claremount House provides nursing and personal care for up to 22 older people with mental health needs. The home is situated in the Claremount district of Halifax with easy public transport links to the town centre. All bedrooms are single with en suite facilities and there are spacious communal areas.
We are flexible and person centred in our approach, believing that no two people will have the same support needs, goals or aspirations and knowing therefore that everyone's support will be different. Our person centred support plans are developed in partnership with the people we support and others who are important to them. We always ensure that the process is meaningful and that the person supported has real opportunities to direct the process and state their wishes.
Making it possible for people with complex needs
While we are able to support people with a wide range of learning disabilities, we have particular expertise in supporting individuals with very challenging and complex needs. We believe that people with more complext needs have not always had the chance to make their voices heard or to receive really high quality person centred support. Oftern they have not had the opportunity to live in their own homes in the community. We know that our investment in this often marginalised group means that our support services can be really life changing. Our behaviour specialist is fully involved in assessing need, setting up personalised packages of support that will really make a difference to a person's life and, alongside specialists from our quality team, supporting staff in providing high quality individualised support.
Communication
We understand how important it is to communicate with people in a way that is meaningful to them and we ensure that everyone we support has a communication plan. We train our staff to understand the validity of all communication methods and to communicate effectively with and listen carefully to the people they support.
