ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 46 FLAMBARD ROAD
At 46 Flambard Road we support eight individuals with a learning disability and mental health needs. We have a proven track record of supporting people whose behaviour may be perceived as challenging. The service is in Harrow, close to the town centre, underground stations and bus routes.
We empower each person to lead a happy and independent life and encourage individuals to be actively involved in personal care, cooking cleaning and participating in the community. The kitchen has been carefully designed to enable everyone to join in meal preparations.
We support individuals to participate in a range of activities, according to their interests and wishes, and can also support people to undertake college courses and work experience placements.
We believe everybody should be given the information they need to make decisions and choices for themselves. We hold regular service meetings which everyone can participate in, and individuals can choose to be involved in staff recruitment, if they wish.
46 Flambard Road has a spacious lounge and a dining room with views of the garden. The conservatory features a piano, and one very popular activity is the sing-a-longs that are held there in the evenings.
46 Flambard Road has a large landscaped garden, which individuals are invited to help maintain to develop daily living skills. The garden has a seating area and is also used for outdoor games and activities. The service is wheelchair accessible and adaptations can be made to meet individual needs.
