ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 20 TOWNGATE EAST
At 20 Towngate East we support seven individuals who have severe learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and other complex needs.
The service is in the market town of Market Deeping and we have two adapted vehicles which allow us to visit larger towns nearby.
Our staff team are very adaptable and are welcoming to all service users and their families and work to create a fun and supportive environment. We treat each individual with respect and dignity and believe everyone should be able to express themselves in the way they prefer. We use a wide range of communication aids and programmes and have staff members who are communication coordinators. Individuals are involved in choosing activities, holidays and menus, through one to one meetings or group sessions.
We encourage everyone to become part of the community and enjoy activities of their choice, including swimming, gym, shopping and going to the cinema or theatre. We often attend local events such as discos and festivals. There are a variety of education courses available locally. Service users are encouraged to help staff as much as they can with tasks such as gardening, cooking and cleaning, building independence and skills.
The service has a large garden with a vegetable patch and fruit trees. There is also an activity room with a pool table. The service is wheelchair accessible and specialist equipment, such as hoists and adapted bathrooms, is available.
