ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 1 & 3 ST PHILIPS CLOSE

At 1 & 3 St Philips Close we provide physical and emotional support to eight adults with a diverse range of learning and physical disabilities. The majority of the people in our care are aged between 40 and 69. The staffing ratio of 1:2 allows us to provide full, appropriate and responsible care and support. This includes enabling individuals to access local services and supporting them to achieve person centered goals and aspirations.

Everyone who lives at the service is provided with the full opportunity to be involved in creative and diverse activities. These include swimming, dancing and trips to local places of interest, museums and cinemas. There is also the option of attending college, day services and local clubs. Within the service, individuals can choose to be involved in cooking, baking, massage, manicures, games and developing their living skills.

The service prides itself on open and transparent communication with all friends, family members and multi disciplinary professionals who are involved in individuals’ health and well being.

We encourage service users to be fully involved in producing their own care plan, putting them at the forefront of all decision making. Families, advocates and care managers are also consulted prior to decisions being made.

The service is comprised of two purpose built bungalows, set within their own communal gardens, which are secured by a wall and shrubbery. Each service has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, both of which are fully adapted to meet each individual’s needs. All areas are furnished to a high standard, creating a friendly and welcoming environment.

There are local shops and facilities within walking distance and shopping malls and Leeds city centre are a short bus ride away.
