"We initially visited Queen Elizabeth Park as part of a fact finding mission for our elderly Uncle and Aunt who were living at home with a live in carer but were getting too frail for this to continue. Queen Elizabeth far outshone the other homes we visited. they showed a genuine caring and a rare imaginative attitude to the provision of care. The home itself reflected this with many different communal areas with different functions. No large sitting room, chairs round the walls and a blaring TV quite the opposite. There are numerous small sitting rooms with chairs arranged around small tables. One as a library with NO television in and a designated tea room where clients can entertain their relatives and friends and tea and cake is provided. My Uncle and Aunt could have two rooms which could be arranged according to their preference either as a sitting room and shared bedroom or as two separate bedrooms their choice. The potential sitting room has French doors leading to the garden where there are nice areas to sit in and a Beach Garden with beach huts and sand where Vicky told me they have a seafood lunch with cockles, mussels and whelks so that those clients who cannot get to the beach (one of the many outings) can have the beach brought to them. My Uncle and Aunt only arrived yesterday in a somewhat rushed way but both Heather and Vicky have been very efficient, caring and helpful in what was a difficult situation made all the more difficult because of the distance myself and sister were trying to organise everything from. I cannot comment on the day to day running as yet but our initial experience is outstanding. I am a trained nurse and have worked in the care sector for 30 years so I am not easily pleased but it was great to find a home that I feel I will be able to have faith in to provide a truly holistic approach to care, promoting independence and encouraging choices."
