ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - EASTRY VILLAS
Eastry Villas provide a high quality residential service for adults with a learning disability and complex needs and who may be on the autistic spectrum.
Eastry Villas is situated in the small village of Eastry, approximately 3 miles from Sandwich. The Villas comprise 3 properties; a purpose built house with 9 bedrooms; 6 upstairs and 3 on the ground floor, Forge Flats with 2 one-bedroom flats and a detached bungalow accommodating one person with access if an individual has a physical disability.
Our service philosophy is based on Valuing People principles, including maximising people's ability to make choices, respecting your basic human rights, fostering inclusion in wider society, and encouraging people to gain the maximum level of independence they are able to.
Our focus is on supporting people through individualised person-centred support plans, helping them to make choices and promoting their independence.
Our latest CQC inspection report shows that we are meeting all the required standards. The following is taken from the CQC website:
"We spoke to and spent time with all the people living in Mill House. One person said, "Its good here. I am learning skills to be more independent." Not everyone living in the home was able to talk about their lifestyle with us so we observed the interactions between the people and staff.
We saw people who were visually and hearing impaired being supported with a variety of sensory stimulation activities so that they could interact with the people around them and their environment as much as possible.
People received support to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
People were supported to develop their independence skills, including making snacks and drinks. People were supported to express their views and make important decisions because the staff supported them with their communication and spent time with them."
