ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 351 MAIDSTONE ROAD
351 Maidstone Road offers transition services for six adults who are leaving school at the end of their education, or who are at risk of placement breakdown. The service is able to support individuals with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, including autism and Aspergers, additional mental heath support requirements or those who present behaviour which challenges. The service is also able to accept referrals from individuals who have some mobility needs.
The knowledgeable staff team at 351 Maidstone Road will work with individuals for a fixed period of intense support, typically from two to four years, with the aim of equipping individuals with the necessary skills to move into a more independent service or supported living.
Individuals are supported to continue to access education through our links with local colleges and to seek employment. Staff will also find creative solutions to support everyone with developing the skills required for independent living such as budgeting, maintaining good health, personal safety and managing their household responsibilities. The staff team are trained and able to work with individuals who present complex behaviours in a proactive way, supporting them to develop and use personal coping strategies necessary for independent living. We retain the services of a consultant psychiatrist and psychologist to ensure a multidisciplinary approach and appropriate support.
The service is in a quiet suburban area of Wigmore in Medway, approximately 45 minutes from London. This large detached property with spacious back garden is within easy reach of local amenities and transport links.
