ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - TITCHFIELD LODGE
Titchfield Lodge is a small residential home for four adults with severe learning disabilities and additional complex needs. This home offers a calm, sensory focussed environment within which positive support and extensive day opportunities are provided to maximise individual experiences.
The young people living at Titchfield Lodge are non verbal and have high sensory and communication needs. The home has been specifically personalised to suit visual impairment needs and promote independence through the environment through clear distinctions between rooms.
This small home has been colourfully decorated with painted murals and lighting along with musical instruments and sensory items to enhance engagement and stimulate interaction. Intensive interaction is also used by the staff team.
Titchfield Lodge has a large lounge with adjoining sensory area. There is a separate conservatory used as a dining room and a further communal room, which houses the piano and objects of reference and other augmentative communication resources.
There is a beautiful, long back garden, with decked area near the house. The people who live at Titchfield Lodge love spending time in the garden, enjoying the sensory aspects, space and textures; the access through the garden is also good.
The individuals who live at Titchfield Lodge enjoy various day activities including courses in ‘fun cookery’, music and movement, ‘fun with Makaton’ and music therapy.
