ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WOODROW COTTAGE
Woodrow Cottage, based in Fair Oak, near Winchester, is a home for seven people with learning a disability and additional needs. Although built in the late 1800s, the home has been tastefully modernised and beautifully refurbished into a modern design specifically for young adults, creating a warm, friendly and welcoming home.
The home is a large modern detached property within easy reach of local amenities and in a quiet setting. Woodrow Cottage's accommodation is second to none, with a large sitting room, a dining room and a smaller second lounge. The hub of the home is a beautiful farmhouse kitchen where everyone tends to congregate. Outside there is an enclosed garden, which backs onto fields. The garden includes a cycle track which has been created for the service users who enjoy taking advantage of the facilities in the warmer months. There is also a double garage block.
The people currently living at the home enjoy an active lifestyle and regularly use local community facilities, including visiting the local pub for its karaoke evenings.
The house is staffed 24 hours a day by an experienced and qualified team with additional support available to provide a variety of daytime activities, including horticulture, craft, trampolining, QE Activity Centre, cooking and much more.
