ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - GRANGEWOOD CARE CENTRE
Grangewood is a purpose-built, care home in Shiney Row, an attractive former colliery village close to Houghton-le-Spring in Tyne and Wear. We provide specialist residential and respite care for older people, including individuals with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia.
We have a strong sense of community at Grangewood. Most residents have lived in the area for many years and the majority of our team members, many of whom have been here since the home opened in 2005, are also local. This means that new residents often know people who live and work at Grangewood – so when they move in, they’re surrounded by old friends and familiar faces.
