ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ST CHRISTOPHER'S NURSING HOME
St Christopher’s is a purpose-built home, pleasantly located in a residential area of Hatfield. It has recently been enlarged and extensively refurbished.
The care we offer
St Christopher’s offers nursing care including nursing dementia, convalescence, palliative care and respite. We also offer specialist support to those with Parkinson’s disease. The staff we employ are registered nurses and highly-trained care assistants, who are dedicated to providing 24-hour care in a professional and respectful way.
Our sites
St Christopher’s has five houses offering specialist care for its residents. Scott House, Marsden House, Bonnington House and Francis House each provide focused frail elderly nursing care for around 30 residents.
Johnson House provides specialist dementia care. A new dedicated activities room has recently been added. This complements the existing comfortable lounges, traditional dining room and social areas, many of which boast views of the delightful gardens.
Food
Appetising meals are freshly prepared, nutritionally checked, and cooked with the finest ingredients. Each resident’s dietary needs and preferences are discussed and understood shortly after their arrival with us at St Christopher’s. Our experienced chef then caters for residents' individual requirements, creating a menu to satisfy individual needs. Specialist equipment allows all dishes to be modified in texture to provide the best nutrition for all.
Activities
Our residents’ individual interests and levels of ability are taken into account by the dedicated activity co-ordinator, who ensures that there‘s always something stimulating and enjoyable to do each day. Residents have a varied and entertaining social calendar. We arrange trips to local places of interest, such as Stanborough Lakes, Hatfield Market, or to a pub for lunch. The home participates in a variety of charity events; recent favourites include the world’s largest coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
