Following an extensive redevlopment programme, St Cross Grange now provides residential, dementia and nursing care for 64 residents.
Located in a quiet suburb of the historic city of Winchester, St Cross Grange offers a peaceful setting with the home situated in two acres of its own grounds. In the original house, the lounges, dining rooms and communal areas have all been completely refurbished creating an engaging and relaxing home environment. Many of the bedrooms and communal areas have retained the original period features.
The home has wide corridors and doorways to accommodate wheelchair users. Bedrooms are tastefully furnished and residents are encouraged to bring personal items to add a familiar touch to their new home. The bedrooms are arranged in small groups with their own communal facilities, including dining rooms and activity rooms. They are light and airy, and feature en-suite wet rooms to enable easy access.The beds and chairs are specially designed to ensure the comfort of our residents.
The new state-of-the-art dementia development incorporates the very latest dementia design features. All rooms access a central area with a dementia walkway featuring reminiscence areas, providing stimulation and engagement in a safe environment.
Along with all the homes operated by Greensleeves Homes Trust, St Cross Grange is committed to the Eden Alternative philosophy which enhances and enriches the lives of older people. The Eden Alternative is based on the core belief that ageing should be a continued stage of development and growth, rather than a period of decline.
The home has a lively social life with frequent visits from a range of stimulating guests. Regular outings to the many places of local interest and shopping trips are arranged for the residents using the home's own minibus.
