Craigielea Care Home

"Given that one is reluctant to give up the care of a family member, or friend, it is going to be hard for any care home to meet expectations of what is necessary and what is good. As a visitor one is wanting to find fault, to catch the carers out. I have never been able to find fault. When I have raised a perceived problem the staff have immediately been able to meet my concern. I have felt satisfied. I never leave the home worried or concerned about the person I have visited. I am certain they will be kept safe using good protocol and cherished as an individual as I would like.
Craigielea is an exemplar of good care. The home is for the benefit of its residents not the staff. Like any private home no two days are the same , something is always going on tea parties, outings, pet dogs and therapeutic chickens, a piper before Burns Supper. The residents are living a safe, good life at Craigielea with the outside world always present. Residents are not forgotten. The remises are maintained to the highest standard with redecoration as the norm, the residents can personalise their rooms. There is a varied healthy diet, all the food is freshly prepared. The garden is south and west facing. It is accessible to residents. There is a hair dresser on the premises. The laundry returns clothes to their owners (this is a miracle). They don't seem to use 'bank' staff so there is only continuity of care. If one must have a relative looked after away from home this is the best place I have ever come across, really a home from home for the residents, that gives peace of mind for the family and friends."
