ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WOMBWELL HALL NURSING HOME
Wombwell Hall Nursing Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 120 older people, some of whom have dementia. The service is provided from four separate buildings. Up to 30 people using the service may be accommodated in each building.
The care we offer
The home has been designed and equipped specifically to provide nursing care for older people. Wombwell Hall is also able to care for those who require palliative or terminal care and for those who need rehabilitation services or respite.
The home has four houses; Micawber House, Weller House, Copperfield House and Pickwick House. Each has its own unique character, offering nursing care to elderly, often frail residents.
Food
Meals are an important and enjoyable part of the day at Wombwell Hall, and our chef creates a wide range of nutritious dishes, prepared daily using fresh ingredients. All menus are nutritionally balanced and our chef caters for all tastes and diets, visiting each resident soon after they arrive to discuss their preferences and any special requirements they may have.
Residents can choose to dine in the home’s traditional dining rooms or in the privacy of their own room if they prefer.
Activities
At Wombwell Hall we encourage residents to lead a full and active lifestyle and offer a wide range of activities to suit all interests and levels of mobility. Our activity co-ordinator ensures there’s always something enjoyable to do, from arts and crafts to gentle exercise to music, coffee mornings and flower arranging.
Residents have plenty of opportunity to pursue personal hobbies, or take up new ones if they wish. We have a visiting mobile library and local entertainers such as pianists perform for residents regularly.
We like to arrange trips to local places of interest, such as to Lakeside and Bluewater shopping centres, the local theatre and tea dances, which relatives are welcome to join in with.
