Situated on the outskirts of the lovely picturesque market town of Wem, Westlands is a warm and friendly Home where a welcome awaits from the staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
The gardens at Westlands are full of colour and the Home regularly enters, and wins, prizes in the local sweet pea competition, something for which Wem is particularly famous.
The friendly staff will welcome you and help you settle in and get the most out of your stay.
Food is very important to all of us and we were thrilled when our Catering Manager was awarded a Platinum Healthy Eating Award. So don’t worry if you need a special diet, as naturally we can accommodate you.
We have daily activities in the home, tailor-made to improve well being and to have fun!
We will accommodate your own hobbies, helping you to carry on with the things you enjoy.
The local opticians, dentist, and chiropodist can visit you should you need and we have close contacts with all health professionals.
Westlands has adopted the butterfly approach for people with dementia which uses everyday tasks to stimulate the mind, this technique can improve mobility, help with sleep patterns and can help with the reduction of medication.
