ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WAYFARERS
Wayfarers is a Kent County Council run home offering up to 33 beds for older people requiring residential care. The home is set in a residential area of Sandwich, close to the town centre on major bus routes and is a 5 minute walk to Sandwich train station.
Wayfarers is a specially designed and built single storey care home for the elderly. We aim to provide all the necessary care and attention for those who wish to spend their retirement in a secure and caring atmosphere.
There are 33 single bedrooms and they offer facilities to ensure comfort and care. At least 11 of these bedrooms are used for short term and respite care.
Highly trained and qualified staff cover duties 24 hours a day–the majority of whom hold an NVQ level 2 or 3. The senior team have all completed NVQ level 3 or 4 or the The Registered Managers Award. The home maintains a strong emphasis on staff recruitment and training.
All service users needs are met in a friendly, enabling and efficient way; we strive to preserve and maintain dignity, individuality and privacy, we are always sensitive to ever changing needs.
Wayfarers and KCC promote LGBT inclusivity.
A wide range of activities are organised by staff on a daily basis, service users are also encouraged to pursue their own hobbies and interests.
Our aim is to provide a home from home environment with a strong community feel; whilst maintaining respect and promoting individual's identity, dignity, privacy at all times.
