ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THORNBURY CARE CENTRE
Thornbury provides dementia, residential, nursing and physical disability care for older people. Each person is treated as an individual within a highly supportive, homely and welcoming atmosphere. We actively promote and maintain high standards of care, whilst at the same time respecting each individual’s dignity and privacy.
Thornbury offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where we strive to make the experience of living here as comfortable, fulfilling and enriching as we possibly can.
We provide a wide variety of leisure, social and recreational activities designed to boost people’s confidence and increase their independence.
Meal times are an important part of the day at Thornbury. Our experienced catering staff prepares a varied menu of wholesome, home-cooked food every day. The menu is changed daily, plus individual and special diets are fully catered for.
We have ‘Film Night’ once a week for all residents, relatives and friends. The Activities Coordinator also arranges weekly group activities including gardening, games, baking, and painting trips to the beach or local places of interest. The Coordinator also arranges one-to-one activities including ‘reminiscence’ (respecting the life and experiences of the individual with the aim of maintaining good mental, emotional and physical health), and newspaper reading.
