ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - THE HADLOWS
The Hadlows is two adjoining registered residential properties offering a positive and supportive environment for people with an Acquired Brain Injury. The service supports people for as long as is needed, to develop the skills and confidence to live more independently and plan for the future.
Working with specialist health and community services, our dedicated team offers vocational rehabilitation and maintenance support, to enable people to regain and maintain skills in managing health needs and daily living.
The Hadlows has four bedrooms in one side of the property and five in the other. There is a lounge in each side, open kitchens, a shared central office and a shared garden between both houses, enjoyed by those who live in the homes.
Rehabilitation programmes are individually designed to promote independence and self-esteem, promoting the regaining of personal control over life.
We support people to identify and achieve their chosen lifestyle and offer support to take up opportunities to develop skills and confidence to gain work experience and employment, access education and vocational training, maintain personal relationships and develop and maintain friendships with people who share similar interests.
Staff undertake a sixteen module training programme in Acquired Brain Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury and the team is also actively involved in the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) and Kent Acquired Brain Injury Forum (KABIF) to promote best practice.
