ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - SUNNYBROOK CLOSE

6 Sunnybrook Close is an adapted bungalow providing residential care for three people with learning disabilities. For the residents this is their home and so the caring and experienced staff team aim to support them to live happy, fulfilling lives in a safe environment. Being a long-term home the staff are able to build their understanding of the residents’ needs and preferences and work to meet those needs to provide high quality, person-centred support and so achieve the key aim of the home to promote individual independence and choice at every opportunity.

 

The residents at Sunnybrook Close have complex medical needs and require high levels of care. They are also not able to communicate verbally, but we believe that this should not hinder their ability to express themselves and make life choices. All residents are encouraged and supported to add personal touches to their rooms and to be involved in the decoration of their home. The current residents love flowers and so the home is full of bright floral artwork. There is also an impressive garden which is a favourite location for residents to enjoy themselves during dry weather.

 

Residents are encouraged to select the foods they would like to eat each day and are supported to complete daily living tasks such as folding their laundry. The current residents have limited mobility, but we encourage them to be as active as possible and to get involved in community activities which interest them. We believe that the development and maintenance of relationships, friendships and contact with families is essential in order for our residents to live enjoyable lives.

 

All our residents are treated with the upmost dignity and respect and we are dedicated to providing top quality personal care tailored to the needs of each individual resident.
