ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - STRATTON HOUSE (MHA)
In 1950, Stratton House was a nursing home capable of housing just five patients. Under the care of MHA, who took it over in that year, it has grown to its current capability of 33 residents.
Originally designed for women only, the first matron of Stratton House was quoted as saying: “We are all women in the house, except for the grandfather clock – and he doesn’t give us any trouble.” The grandfather clock still stands in pride of place in the main hallway. By the later 1970s the home had 28 residents, many of them over 90. In the early 1980s further development was undertaken, creating the elegant and calm environment that exists today.
Located in a leafy suburban setting, the home hosts beautifully kept grounds of its own and just across the road is Bath’s extensive Royal Victoria Park, which stretches below the city’s famous Royal Crescent.

There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.
Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.
