ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - SPEIRS HOUSE
Speirs House is owned and operated by Greensleeves Homes Trust, a ‘not for profit’ charitable organisation providing care and accommodation for older people.
An elegant Edwardian House, Speirs House has been extended and modernised to provide care and accommodation for 35 older ladies and gentlemen. Situated in a peaceful area of New Malden, South West London, Speirs House offers a safe and comfortable ‘home from home’ with easy access to public transport and local amenities.
On duty 24 hours a day, the home’s dedicated multi-disciplined team, provide high quality care to meet individual resident’s requirements. As part of the home’s commitment to best practice, Speirs House staff receive ongoing training in every aspect of the care of older people.
The home offers 34 spacious ground floor bedrooms, all en suite, and each tastefully furnished and decorated. With numerous lounges and a well stocked library there is something for everyone. Residents are supported by staff to use the available Wi-Fi access and computers to stay in touch with friends and family.
Speirs House’s gardens have been adapted to afford ease of access with walkways and a central courtyard garden providing a quiet, relaxing place to sit and enjoy the sunshine.
Speirs House follows the Eden Alternative philosophy in the care of older people. All our residents’ views, choices and preferences contribute to the daily running of their home.
A regular programme of activities is organised with fun and engaging pursuits provided daily. The Speirs House minibus is regularly used for outings to place such as Richmond Park, Chessington Zoo, and shopping trips to nearby New Malden and Kingston upon Thames.
We recognise that our residents have differing tastes and pleasures, and cater for each and every one as an individual. All food is freshly prepared and well presented to ensure dining is a real occasion, residents regularly update the menu with requests and ideas.
