ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - SMALLCOMBE HOUSE
Smallcombe House was opened in March 1992. The home is owned and run by The Salvation Army. Admission is open to anyone irrespective of personal belief. The ethos of the home is Christian. Not all staff are practising Christians but Smallcombe House is run on Christian principles. Care is enhanced by an awareness that people should be regarded holistically which means physical spiritual and mental well being. The Home also has a Chaplain who is an ordained minister.
Smallcombe House is a purpose built home for 32 men and women aged 65 years and over. Smallcombe House is light and spacious, with plenty of choice between social areas and privacy. There is a comfortable lounge, and a passenger lift to all floors.
We have an Activities co-ordinator who organises our weekly rota of events to take place, these consists of outings, crafts, quizzes, walks and shopping etc.
A Chiropodist visits the Home every six weeks. A hairdresser visits once a week. Daily papers and magazines can be arranged.
