ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - SHERWOOD FOREST CARE HOME
Sherwood Forest Care Centre provides nursing, palliative and residential care for up to 36 people over 65 and for 39 people with dementia over the age of 50. We provide support that is of the highest standard and is tailored to meet individual’s needs, wishes and choices.
We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.
Our activities co-ordinators organise an extensive range of activities which individuals can choose to become involved in. This may include playing bingo, card games, having manicures, taking part in karaoke, quizzes, watching films, painting and listening to music. We also offer opportunities for people to go on excursions in the local area. The activities offered are very much based on the individual person’s choice and interests.
Meals are an important part of the day at Sherwood Forest Care Centre and our expert catering staff provide a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a religious, cultural or choice perspective.
We have an in-house hairdressing salon and residents also have regular visits from chiropodists, opticians and other professionals.
