Sefton Park
Sefton Park is a therapeutic community that provides an integrative programme to its clients, who are seeking an alternative to the 12 Step Model. All our interventions are individualised/Person Centred in approach.
We believe that every individual has the right to care and respect, autonomy and the choice to change the way they live. We believe that individuals should also treat others with care and respect, allow others the right to autonomy and the choice to change, whilst being accountable and responsible for their own actions.
The therapeutic community provides both support and challenge to each member of the group. Those in the latter stages of their treatment acting as role models and mentors to the newer members.
Mixed Community
We are a mixed sex community that reflect many of the challenges of any community of people living closely together. To enable female residents to feel safer and more secure, we have a women only floor on the upper storey of the house with their own sleeping and bathing facilities, which can only be accessed by use of a coded door.
Ethos
We work under the ethos that addiction /alcoholism is an illness of attitudes & behaviours so there is a strong cognitive behavioural element to our therapy.
Sefton Park gives clients chance to understand their addiction, underlying triggers/traumas and the impact their addiction has on themselves and others. In addition clients learn how to manage their emotions, challenge irrational beliefs and thought processes, build new healthy attitudes.
