ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ROCK HOUSE RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME
Rock House, as our name suggests, has been built on firm foundations and we have been providing distinctive high quality care for older people since 1967. We are registered to look after and care for 38 residents. Our aim is to provide a safe environment for our residents without restricting their activities and to do all we can to make them feel at home. We provide a well run residential care home for ordinary care and specialist care. Short-term respite care is also offered to assist family members to take a short break or a holiday and Day Care is also available.
We have activities co-ordinators who organise one to ones with residents, small group work including mind stimulating games, music therapy and fun aerobic exercise. Our activities include visiting the local pub restaurant which is next door to Rock House (an extra cost will be charged for this).
Occasionally we are visited by professional musical performers and actors. In keeping with our Christian ethos we hold weekly worship meetings, Bible studies, and communion services; often led by leaders from the local churches. Attendance at these services is optional. We never seek to evangelise anyone in our care and we always ensure that those residents who do not wish to attend the Bible studies or services feel comfortable and at home in other parts of the home.
We are pleased to welcome visitors and relatives at any time
We respect the privacy and individuality of our residents and we take great pains to promote their independence. Family and friends may visit residents at anytime and are always welcome to come and join us for meals, at a small additional cost, and for other special occasions.
