ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - RNID ACTION ON HEARING LOSS 60 OLIVE LANE

Olive Lane, Halesowen, West Midlands

Olive Lane is a residential home without nursing in Halesowen, West Midlands. We provide a 24hr residential service for 8 deaf and hard of hearing men and women with a range of needs including physical disabilities, mental ill health, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and dementia. The age range of the people we currently support is 39-80 although we are registered to support anybody over the age of 18.

What’s important to us?

Providing a service that is person-centred and focuses on what the people we support want and like
Embracing peoples differences and not discriminating
Respect and dignity of the people living at the service
That opportunities and fulfilment are not limited because people are deaf or have a hearing loss
That the people we support have fun at home and in their communities
Involving the people we support in the way their home is run

Our speciality is providing a friendly, caring, comfortable, safe and family type environment. We pride ourselves on offering a highly professional care service with a personal touch. We can give people a home for life or we can help people develop their independence and provide move-on opportunities.

What people say about us:

“I want to express my thanks for everything that is done for my sister. She has never been happier than when she moved to Olive Lane. Her social, physical and mental well-being is catered for and all the staff are amazing. What a team, first class.”

This is what CQC said about us at our most recent inspection:

The care plans we looked at were personalised and contained details of the likes and dislikes of the person as well as photographs and histories. The documents were written and pictorial to allow for the difficulties that some people may have had in accessing the information. We saw that staff were referring to those plans whilst delivering care. This meant that staff were able to provide for the personalised care needs of people.
