ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - RIVER COURT RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
This comfortable, purpose-built home in a residential area of Watford provides specialist care for elderly people. The home is easily accessible from junction 20 of the M25 and is near both Cassiobury Park and Watford General Hospital.
The care we offer
River Court comprises four houses and offers specialist nursing and residential care, for the frail elderly and for those with dementia. The home’s residential dementia and nursing dementia units have both been awarded an accredited status by Hertfordshire County Council.
Food
Each of the four houses at River Court has its own dining area or alternatively, residents are welcome to eat their meals in their own rooms, if they prefer. Nutritious, varied and seasonal meals are prepared daily by the chef. Cake and biscuits are always available to accompany a cup of tea or coffee.
All tastes, diets and nutritional requirements are catered for. Every resident has their preferences and dietary requirements assessed soon after their arrival.
Activities
The home's activity co-ordinator offers a range of enjoyable activities that reflect the interests of our residents. There are reminiscence sessions to help stimulate the mind, as well as sing-a-longs, bingo and garden walks. Residents are encouraged to stay active throughout the day and spontaneous events, such as a game of cards with friends, are valued.
There are trips outside the home, to Cassiobury Park or the local theatre for example, and friends and family are always welcome to join any activities or outings. Special social events are also held throughout the year to celebrate events such as Burn's Night, Mother's Day and Christmas.
