Pinewood Nursing Home

"Today did not start very well - I felt sick and miserable - and it was raining. A gentle tap on my door and a cheerful young voice asked if I wanted breakfast. Rather ungraciously I said "No - I just want to be left in peace!". The caller said kindly "I will come back later in case you've changed your mind". Feeling nothing mattered anymore, I turned over and tried to sleep, the next caller "Do you want help with dressing and washing?". "No thanks". She went away but throughout the day the patient kindly staff looked in on me just quietly caring and anxious to help a miserable old lady in any way they could. A little time ago I gave up my home very reluctantly for my family's peace of mind and was welcomed into Pinewood. During my time there I have learnt what kindness, real love and genuine caring mean. And I have come to love the people who unselfishly care for us. It is not an easy job - but one so worthwhile in today's sad selfish world. "Love" is the greatest gift of any and in Pinewood you find it in abundance - so freely given, and I can never find words to thank all my dear friends for all their daily care. My love to you all."
