OSJCT The Poplars

"Mum has been at The Poplars since March and has benefited greatly with the attention and care she gets, and has gone up 2 sizes which isn't a bad thing! Just before Christmas she developed a chest infection and then pneumonia and had to stay in hospital for 4 days. The staff were all very supportive during this time as were the rest of her new 'family' and it was lovely to see how pleased everyone was to see her when she came home on Christmas Eve. obviously she wasn't well enough to go to our usual family gathering but my brother and I went in the morning to the Christmas spirit well and truly flowing! There was a lovely family atmosphere and everyone was offered a tipple and hot mince-pie. Santa handed out presents and all the staff including some not on duty joined in the festivities. I was able to have lunch with Mum and friends before leaving in the afternoon. I would also like to say how impressed I was with the time and effort that went into decorating the lounges and other areas, and all the social events that went on in the run up to both Christmas and New Year! It really did feel like home!
