"I felt Primrose area was noisy particularly at night. The doors to rooms with noisy residents were invariably open. At one point of an hour's 'nurse help' in a stentorian voice, I closed the door only to be told by a member of staff it had to be left open. One night I was awakened at 4.30am another 3,15am by residents shouting, It was worse than my six weeks stay in the hospital."

Athelstan House provides nursing and residential care for up to 80 older people. In addition to long term care, the home offers short stays to people who require support with rehabilitation or a period of respite care.

The home, located on the outskirts of the historic market town of Malmesbury in Wiltshire, is operated by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT). OSJCT is a leading not for profit charity which provides care for older people in over 70 care homes and extra care schemes.
