Oakwood House is situated next to a historic Norman church in the peaceful village of Colney, only three miles from Norwich city centre.
The care we offer We offer several types of stay at Oakwood House. This ranges from nursing to palliative care, convalescence, post-operative care and respite.
Food The chef’s tasty and seasonal menu ensures that mealtimes are an important part of the day at Oakwood House. A hot and cold choice is available at each meal, and homemade cakes are served daily.
We aim to fully understand new residents' nutritional needs, tastes, special diets and preferences shortly after their arrival, and we check regularly that such needs are being met. We also welcome feedback so we can continue to improve our food service.
Activities Activities at Oakwood House include painting, board games, handicrafts, bingo, and exercise classes – or residents can pursue their own hobbies and interests. There is also a mobile library which visits regularly. There are regular excursions to Norwich, the Norfolk Broads, and the coast. Friends and relatives are welcome to join in activities inside and outside the home.
Our home also enjoys a themed activity or event each month that are tailored to the different capabilities of residents. Themes might include Burns Night, Pancake Day and Mother’s Day.
