ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - OAKCROFT

Oakcroft is home for four people with learning disabilities and additional needs in Four Marks, backing onto the Watercress Line.

The people living at Oakcroft are all men, aged mid twenties to early forties. They are supported by a skilled staff team, predominantly male staff during the day and a female waking night.

Oakcroft offers a lovely open plan kitchen, dining room and a large lounge with a further dining area to one side. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor whilst the others are upstairs. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and there is also a separate bathroom. The garden to the rear of Oakcroft is surrounded by trees and offers a delightful outside space.

The men who live in this home enjoy an active lifestyle, with favoured activities including trampolining, gardening and the varied physical pursuits available at the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Centre near Southampton. Their personal interests include cycling at Alice Holt Forest, bowling and voluntary jobs both gardening at the local Convent and helping in the British Heart Foundation shop in Alton. At weekends they enjoy going to the cinema to watch their choice of film, going on local walks and visiting car boot sales. Camping is also a popular pastime of these young men.

Oakcroft supports individuals with a learning disability and a range of additional needs including autism and communication difficulties. They benefit from positive support, structure and personalised routines and this is further supported by their individually tailored activity timetables.
