ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MURDOCH HOUSE
Murdoch House Care Home is part of the Four Seasons Health Care Group and can be found in Wokingham, Berkshire. The Home is easily accessible to shops, transport links and local amenities. A 5 minute walk finds you in the centre of town.
Christine Tyrrell has been the Home Manager since 2006. Christine leads a great team who are all dedicated in providing excellent standards of care.
Everyone at Murdoch House strives to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all its residents. This is carried out in a warm, caring and homely atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their individual care, whether his is medical, cultral, spiritual, social or psycological. The involvement of family and friends is greatly valued and encouraged.
Murdoch House has a TV and a quiet lounge. There is also a beautiful conservatory which leads out to our well maintained garden.
Our chef produces high quality, traditional meals in a kitchen that has received a 5 star EHO rating for the last 5 years. Residents can enjoy the company of others at meal times or eat in their rooms if prefered. Special diets are catered for.
We recieve regular visits from our local GP, experienced hair stylist and qualified chiropopdist. Complementary therapies can be arranged. We also have regular visits from the mobile library and the local church hold monthly communion services.
Residents benefit from a varied programme of activities including flower arranging, pottery, skittles, reminiscing, seated exercises, quizzes and dominoes etc. Staff orgainse trips into town for shopping, library visits or just for a coffee. We also arrange trip further afield.
Our last CQC inspection took place in September 2013 which showed us to be fully compliant
